Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Live coverage includes live text for Sunday's games on various channels, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, audio coverage can be heard on designated networks covering another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).

We're in the sixth week in the football calendar , following last week's talk regarding two top teams being possible championship contenders, they both surrendered their perfect starts.

Notable in those games was the number of penalties both conceded. The Eagles did so at crucial times meaning they kind of beat themselves having led 17-3 going into the final quarter against the Denver Broncos, who play overseas this weekend.

However it was positive to observe how Denver quarterback Bo Nix managed to overcome that deficit before direct three scoring drives on three possessions during the final period, securing the victory 21-17.

Denver boast the top defender with CB Pat Surtain II. They rank number one in red zone defence, whereas Philadelphia are number one in scoring near the end zone, yet the Broncos won that contest.

They had the Eagles' number regarding simulated pressure. They did not necessarily rushing more than four pass rushers but they could plug two linebackers in the interior then withdrawing them and send a slot defender off the edge.

Early on in the campaign, it was noted on a program how Denver might emerge as this season's surprise contenders. They ended the previous year well and excelled of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's underdog story?

New TE their tight end has excelled significantly while recent running back their rusher is a player they believe in. He's currently 5th in the NFL in ground gains (over 400) as well as tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).

I love that head coach Sean Payton displays "RUN IT!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates how the Broncos represent a team aiming to run first, because you can do a lot off the back of that. It reduces down the pass rush while keeps you in positive down and distances.

This has benefited quarterback the young passer, who entered into the league as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, throwing 29 TDs – just behind Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 in 2020).

Other elite QBs have powerful arms to pass all over, however they don't move the mobility as Nix. He boasts incredible passing ability, which is different, and he's so athletic.

His assets include his mobility, being able to pass on the run, as well as using varied release points to make the pass as he moves out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He is able to throw that layered pass over the middle and over the corner.

As a rookie QB, at 25, he's got great poise in the pocket and is not bothered by the blitz. He aims to avoid being tackled whenever possible and is able throw in tight spots. He has a high football IQ and remains quick to decide.

When you consistently run the ball it eats up the clock and makes the opponent to be in play extended periods, and when you've got an athletic quarterback the defence must defend the field vertically and horizontally. This proves draining.

Nix has pushed back at Payton on the sideline at times and it seems Payton appreciates that attitude, that he's such a competitor. I think it's exciting for the coach to have a rookie QB that is kind of like play-dough. He can really develop him the way he wants to shape him. I think it's a special experience for him.

Payton owns a championship and has passed a legend for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen it all. I think the success Denver are having offensively is mostly due to his guidance, his play-calling, his game sense – and the combination with Nix helps make him into who he is.

There's no better a better guy guiding you, to assist you through some of the tougher situations and build confidence.

I believe in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet is the team good enough to go against an elite team at full strength? Because that wasn't a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia in their last game.

Right now, it's unlikely Denver are incredible. They're performing better than most, that's a good place to hold the AFC West. All they need to do to continue this path.

They excel at leaning into their forte, which is running the ball, and that's precisely what they should do against the Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.

The Jets have surrendered 140 yards on the ground per game (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (in the bottom ten), and they are the only team yet to win any game.

Ever since the NFL began tracking takeaways decades ago, this team are also the inaugural squad to go without any turnovers in five outings, which is kind of shocking considering that their new coach was previously a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.

Patrick Mahomes says the Chiefs are off to a poor start following Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.

After the upcoming matchup, the Broncos face a manageable slate until their bye (in week 12) - the New York Giants, the Cowboys, the Texans and the Raiders prior to the Chiefs.

In their division, the Chiefs are 2-3 while Denver are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 so they could make a run for the top of the West.

It depends upon which form Kansas City shows up they face because the Broncos {beat|def
